Frequently asked questions

How do I know which acid applicator model is compatible with my harvester?

Answer: The most important criterion for selecting an acid applicator is the harvesting capacity. This capacity is given in tonnes per minute (tn/min). Multiply the harvesting capacity by the desired dose of preservative to find out the output rate required of the acid applicator.

Formula: x tn/min * y l/tn = z l/min

Check out our product packages for each harvester model to discover which acid applicator works best with forage harvesters, silage loader wagons, trailed forage harvesters or balers.

I use a biological preservative for feed preservation. Is Happowa’s equipment suitable for applying biological preservatives?

Answer: Yes, all Happowa’s acid applicators and containers are suitable for both acids and biological preservatives. Make sure to always rinse the acid applicator thoroughly after using biological solutions to avoid sedimentation.

My acid applicator is not working. What’s wrong with it?

Answer: If the acid applicator is not drawing liquid properly, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the suction hose and couplings are tightly connected. Pay special attention to the quick couplers’ O-rings and the suction line’s hose couplings.
2. Make sure the valve sets are clean and not too worn. Worn or dirty valve sets can cause suction problems. Watch this video guide to replacing a valve set.
3. Check that there is no debris blocking the suction strainer and clear any blockages.

If none of the aforementioned measures help or the acid applicator is faulty in some other way, do not hesitate to contact us. We will make sure you can get back to work on schedule.

My Spreader controller is not showing the flow rate. What should I do?

Answer: First, check the connections and make sure the flow sensor is clean. If the flow sensor is dirty, clean it thoroughly. If none of these measures work, do not hesitate to contact us. We will find a solution to your problem.

My seed treatment applicator is not working. What should I do?

Answer: There might be a piece of debris in the suction hose or pump or the suction hose might have an air leak. Clean the hose or pump to clear any blockages. You might also have to replace the pump’s valve set. If there is an air leak in the suction hose, the hose and its couplings must be made airtight again. If these steps or the manual’s instructions do not help, please contact us. We will find a solution to your problem.
